Microsoft started the automatic installation of Windows 11 24H2 on compatible devices, leaving users only the possibility of temporarily suspending updates. However, this suspension also includes stopping safety fixes.
Since October 1, 2024, Windows 11 24h2 has been available for devices that meet the technical requirements. However, shortly after its launch, compatibility problems emerged, causing different dysfunctions. Users of certain PCs equipped with SSD Western Digital discs reported, for example, planting, while others have been victims of detection problems with their USB devices.
If some update restrictions have been lifted after the resolution of these bugs, many brakes remain in place. These problems, combined with the distrust of certain users, have slowed down the adoption of this update.
Windows 11 24h2, a forced deployment is underway
Despite these reluctance, Microsoft has announced a new 24 -hour deployment phase. Now, Home and Pro editions of versions 10:2 p.m. and 11 p.m. will automatically receive the update. The only room for maneuver is the choice of the moment to restart the PC or temporarily push the installation.
-In the professional world, devices managed by IT services, however, remain subject to the prior authorization of an administrator to update.
For users wishing to avoid this update, the only alternative is to manually suspend updates via system settings (section Windows Update). A period of suspension of 1 to 5 weeks is possible. However, this means that security fixes will no longer be applied during this period, potentially exposing devices to vulnerabilities.
