The Kansas City Chiefs are now one win away from becoming the first team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl three consecutive times.

Sunday evening, in front of their fans at Arrowhead Stadium, Patrick Mahomes and his gang earned their ticket to the final game of the playoffs by beating the Buffalo Bills 32 to 29.

The championship match in the American did not disappoint oval ball fans. The two teams exchanged the lead five times and the final result was decided in the final seconds.

During the final quarter, with 13 minutes left and the Bills ahead by one point, the Chiefs defense managed to slow down Josh Allen who was attempting a quarterback sneak on fourth down and a yard to go.

Patrick Mahomes scored a touchdown on a 10-yard run five plays later. The pivot also joined Justin Watson for the two-point conversion and the Chiefs regained a seven-point lead.

The Bills had not said their last word. They drove down the field and tied the score with just over six minutes remaining on the clock. Back on offense, the two-time defending champions clocked about three minutes and scored a 35-yard field goal.

Having the chance to come back again, the Bills offense was shut down by coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s defense. With 1 minute and 54 seconds left, Mahomes and his experienced teammates got the job done.

The Chiefs therefore join the Philadelphia Eagles in the final. These two teams will play the Super Bowl game at Caesars Superdome in New on Sunday, February 9.

This will also be the second confrontation between these two teams at the Super Bowl in three years. Kansas City defeated the Pennsylvania team 38-35 in Arizona in this duel which was nicknamed the “Kelce Bowl”.

For their part, the Bills and their fans will still have to wait before returning to the Super Bowl game. In its history, the Buffalo team has participated four times in the great mass of American football (1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993), but has never been able to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
