Fourteen works exhibited in the hall of the Hôtel du Département in Orléans

Colorful paintings, contemporary sculptures, and artistic messages rise between the walls of the lobby of the Hôtel du Département located in Orléans. An exhibition accessible free of charge to highlight local artists.

Each year, the Department plans a budget dedicated to culture. And for this edition, nearly 22,000 euros were allocated to acquire various works. The 2023 and 2024 selection presents fourteen of them and is available to visit from today, Monday January 27. Thus, paintings and sculptures enrich the Department’s contemporary funds. The acquisition of these pieces then makes it possible to support the creation and dissemination of the arts within the framework of cultural policy.

Works chosen at local fairs

In fact, seven paintings and seven sculptures were chosen during various local events. Whether they describe a scene of life expressing the excitement of a French terrace, sculptures in wood, bronze or stainless steel, these creations have been selected at fairs such as that of Pastel, that of European d Contemporary Art in Saint-Brisson-sur-, during the Salon des artistes Orléanais at the Saint-Pierre-le-Puellier collegiate church, or even within the autumn art fair of Bonny-sur-Loire.

Getting there: 5, rue Eugène-Vignat in Orléans in the lobby of the Hôtel du Département. Free, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., January 27 to February 7.
