Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken at a press conference as they prepare to face Chelsea, confirming that his three new signings could play a role.

Guardiola declared that Ruben Dias et Jeremy Doku will miss Saturday’s home game against Chelsea. Dias was forced off at half-time in midweek and the Spanish coach commented on his situation. “He wasn’t feeling well.”

When asked who was absent for the match against Chelsea, Guardiola revealed that Jeremy Doku et Dias would miss the meeting. “We have the same injuries as in the past. Ruben and Doku are not there. The other players who came out are (still) out.”

Guardiola was also asked about the new recruits Victor Reis, Abdukodir Khusanov et Omar Marmoush and said they were available this weekend. “Oui”he replied. “They can play, but I don’t know yet. We don’t have any players.”

“Vitor is young, he has a big personality, he needs time. If he is here with us, of course he can start. Khusanov has already established himself because he played in the French championship, against tough, fast, fast players. But he doesn’t speak much English, so communication will be one of the situations we will have to deal with. I think Marmoush will adapt quickly.”

He also spoke about Marmoush which, according to him, will bring a plus to the team City. “He brings exceptional quality to the team, he is a player of the future for years to come with quality in the final third. That’s why we recruited him.”
