The storm is approaching the French coast after hitting those of the United Kingdom. The day of Friday January 24, 2025 promises to be as rainy as it is windy. And for good reason, storm Éowyn is coming straight to with its gusts of up to 200 km/h.

“Moderate but lasting rain is expected between Friday morning and Saturday morning in the northwest of the territory,” indicates the latest Météo-France bulletin, published this Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the end of the day. “The highest precipitation accumulations will be reached during the night from Friday to Saturday, their location remains to be refined, hence maintaining yellow vigilance ‘rain-flood’. »

More than 30 departments on alert

By mid-afternoon, Météo France had placed 29 departments on yellow alert for various risks: floods, avalanches, rain-flooding and wind. Around 6 p.m. this Thursday, no less than 32 departments were concerned.

The meteorological agency has marked the entire North-West quarter yellow as well as part of the South East and Corsica as well as Haut-Rhin and the Pyrénées-Atlantiques.

In the Paris region, and Val-d’Oise are among the areas placed under the yellow vigilance of Météo-France for risks of rain-flood. For the moment, Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de- still seem spared by the storm. Bad weather, however, will not be avoided.
