Culture and leisure in Gujan-Mestras (CLGM) offers rich and diverse activities to satisfy as many people as possible, by opening up widely to non-members. Saturday January 18, more than 250 people attended the general assembly, which was held at the Maison des associations.
In his moral report, President Thierry Lescarret outlined with certain satisfaction the results of the past year. It was rich in activities offered regularly (bowling, belote, tarot, board games, pétanque, hiking, etc.) but also in outings, trips or themed meals.
In this long list, we also find the garage sale on the natural area of Lake Magdeleine. Since its creation, its success has not been denied. Last year, more than 350 exhibitors were present to welcome the growing number of bargain hunters. The traditional lotto is also a time that still mobilizes enthusiasts. This year, there were more than 500 of them leaning over their boxes.
Mobilized for the Telethon
“All these activities and proposals are the strength of our association and contribute to its notoriety,” said the president. This is measured by the increasing curve in the number of members. They went from 180 in 2022 to 288 on the day of the assembly. “During the last board meeting, we decided to limit their number to 500 to guarantee the quality of our services,” explains Thierry Lescarret.
-This rich associative life pleased the elected officials present at this general assembly. Cédric Pain, departmental advisor, welcomed “the enthusiasm that the association arouses among the population and the diversity of its actions”. Jean-Jacques Germaneau, elected in charge of sports associations, thanked CLGM for its mobilization and active participation in the Telethon. André Moustié, sports assistant, thanked the volunteers on behalf of Mayor Marie-Hélène des Esgaulx, for their investment in local life.
