Workshops for children at the La Cour d’Or museum in Metz

The La Cour d’Or museum organizes activities for children aged 0 to 12 on the occasion of winter vacation 2025. The teams offer 6 workshops to become a knight for a day, better understand nature before the opening of the Biodiversity Pavilion or marvel at the creatures on the ceilings in the bestiary.

The program

Monday February 10, 2025

• Four-legged visit workshop from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. : Accompanied by their parents, little ones will discover the colors and shapes of the Museum’s most attractive works. Accompanied by a mediator, children will be invited to stimulate their senses by handling fun objects! (Aimed at 0-3 year olds)
• Winter Landscapes Workshop from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Explore the trees, countryside and snow-capped mountains represented in the works of the Museum. At the end of the visit, the children will be invited to paint their own canvas. (Aimed at 7-12 year olds)

Wednesday 12, Thursday 13 and Friday 14 February 2025

• Monoprint Workshop from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. : Be careful, we are not at the zoo but at the La Cour d’Or museum! But there are also a multitude of animals hiding here. During this somewhat playful visit, children are invited to come and meet them. During the monotype workshop, they will create their portrait, and take them home with them! (Aimed at 5-7 year olds)
• Workshop My kingdom for a horse from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Discover chivalry, weapons and coats of arms in the medieval rooms of the museum! During the workshop, each child will make their own helmet and leave with it home. (Aimed at 7-12 year olds)

Monday 17, Wednesday 19, Thursday 20 and Friday 21 February 2025

• Workshop People laughing people crying from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.: Addressing emotions and their facial expressions! Children will discover emotions through observation of museum works, mime, games and drawing. (Aimed at 4-6 year olds)
• Evening Stories Workshop from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: The creatures from the ceilings to the bestiary come back to life through the reading of tales and stories told to children. Budding artists will then create a portrait of the creature of their choice. (Aimed at 6-9 year olds)
