Recommendation
The coroner did not wish to elaborate on the causes of Mr. Jean’s death in her report, since they are the subject of divergent or nuanced opinions.
“It is not up to the coroner to take a position regarding divergent or contradictory versions, any more than it is up to him to rule on the criminal or civil liability of the people involved in a death,” mentions Marylinn Morin, adding that his role is not to formulate blame.
