Searches to cancel Netflix rise after price increase

According to Google Trends data, searches for “cancel Netflix” saw a 100% increase globally on January 21 at 9 p.m. EST, after the streaming service announced it was increasing its prices .

This is the fourth price increase since 2011, the last two having been made in less than two years.

Users of the platform will soon have to pay $17.99 per month to watch films and series without advertising, compared to $15.49 currently, according to information relayed by The Verge and CNN. For a standard account that includes ads, the price will be $7.99 per month.

Premium subscribers, who benefit from 4K video quality, will see the cost of their subscription increase to $24.99 per month, an increase of $2 according to the same sources.

How to cancel Netflix
