Surprise during Galaxy Unpacked, the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra were not the only ones to show up. Samsung ended its big event at the start of the year to discuss a very mysterious future smartphone: the Galaxy S25 Edge.
The Galaxy S25 Slim will finally be called Galaxy S25 Edge
A very short video shows the device and suggests that it will be very thin… like the Galaxy S25 Slim which was conspicuous by its absence during Unpacked. Instead of this model at the heart of the rumors for several weeks, a well-known name in the Samsung universe has resurfaced. Indeed, the Edge series accompanied several flagship models from the South Korean manufacturer during the 2010 decade.
The return of the Galaxy Edge is shrouded in mystery
After the Galaxy Note Edge, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and S7 Edge, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge promises to relaunch the series. The brand’s teaser does not provide any information on the future model and its characteristics.
However, rumors related to the Galaxy S25 Slim mention an ultra-thin smartphone with a thickness of around 6.4 mm (compared to 7.2 mm for an S25). This model could offer a powerful photo configuration, with a triple photo sensor including a 200 Mpx module. It would add a telephoto lens and a 50 Mpx ultra wide angle.
-These are still only rumors and we will have to wait before discovering this strange smartphone. The new Galaxy S25 Edge could be the big competitor to Apple’s future iPhone 17 Air/Slim. He is likely to be talked about in the coming months, with MWC 2025 in a few weeks in Barcelona.
Samsung’s future smartphone could, however, wait until the summer to arrive on the market. It would then accompany the release of the new Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip.
