Shooting at a Nashville high school in the United States

Nashville police spokeswoman April Weatherly was not immediately able to provide an update on the condition of those injured.

The shooter shot two students before killing himself, according to Weatherly, who could not immediately say if the shooter was a student.

The FBI in Nashville referred questions to the Metro Nashville Police Department, which is leading the investigation, spokeswoman Elizabeth Clement-Webb said in an email. She did not immediately confirm whether the FBI had been asked to participate in the investigation.

School shootings are at the heart of the news in Nashville. In March 2023, a shooter killed three 9-year-old children and three adults at a private Christian elementary school in the city, The Covenant School.
