INFO ACTU Lyon. Is the Chalet du Parc construction site cursed? Was the calendar too ambitious given the scale of the project? In any case, the plan to rehabilitate this legendary place in the heart of the Tête d’Or park, in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon, is accumulating delays.
Estimated in 2022 for the end of 2025, the opening was initially postponed to the first half of 2026. The editorial staffnews Lyon learned that “the opening would rather take place in the second half of 2026.
A place with great potential
Abandoned in 2013, the Chalet du Parc is a former restaurant nestled between the trees on the edge of Lake Tête d’Or. A forgotten place which, even in its current state, suggests its great potential.
The environmentalist town hall of Lyon Grégory Doucet chose the Youse group, Good Planet Foundation, Fabuleuse Cantine and Maison Gutenberg, associated with the architects Looking for Architecture and Charlotte Vergély, to bring back to life at this place.
-The 1,700 m² building is intended to accommodate an anti-waste restaurant, an educational exhibition space, a conference and seminar space, as well as an awareness space around the themes of food, biodiversity and climate. , water and energy.
The work is struggling to arrive
The building permit was signed on January 16, 2024 by the town hall. But since then, not an excavator in sight. “It took us longer to finalize the development of the architectural and technical project,” explains promoter Youse Dev, interviewed by news Lyon.
The Lyon town hall indicates that the start of work in this asbestos building is now planned “in the spring” of 2025. Due to the effect of a shift in the work schedule, the opening would therefore rather take place “in the second half of 2026”, according to Youse.
As a reminder, the right-wing opposition of the district town hall is less enthusiastic and points out in a previous article “the worrying fragility” of the project carried by Yann Arthus-Bertrandphotographer, reporter, director and environmental activist.
