Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce have confirmed that former Inter defender Milan Skriniar is heading to Istanbul to complete his transfer from PSG. The move could have notable implications for Juventus, AC Milan, Randal Kolo Muani, Strahinja Pavlovic and Italy’s young Under-21 talent, Cher Ndour.
Skriniar, who was also linked with moves to Juventus and Napoli in January, is expected to arrive in Istanbul soon to undergo medicals with the Jose Mourinho-led side. Fenerbahce set to cover his entire salary of 10 million euros per season.
Repercussions for Milan and Pavlovic
Reports last week suggested that Fenerbahce were also eyeing AC Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic as a potential option for January. The Rossoneri are reportedly open to letting their summer recruit leave after just six months at the San Siro.
However, Skriniar’s move to Fenerbahce effectively rules out Pavlovic’s move. Due to suspensions and injuries, the Serb is expected to start in central defense for Milan’s Champions League match against Girona on Wednesday evening, giving him a first opportunity to showcase his talents.
-The impacts on Juventus, Kolo Muani and Ndour
Skriniar’s departure to Fenerbahce could also have repercussions for Juventus, the potential transfer of Randal Kolo Muani and young Italian under-21 player Cher Ndour. The Bianconeri have taken all necessary steps to finalize a loan transfer of Kolo Muani from PSG, but cannot yet announce it, with the Parisians having reached the quota of players they can loan to foreign clubs .
Although Kolo Muani has already trained with Juve, his arrival can only be made official once PSG makes a sale or recalls one of its players loaned abroad. With the departure of Skriniar, PSG will either have to sell or recall two of their players for the aforementioned moves to materialize.
Recent reports indicate that several Serie A clubs are showing interest in Ndour, currently on loan at Besiktas from PSG. However, PSG still needs to resolve a situation so that the transfers of Skriniar and Kolo Muani can take place.
