It’s a huge surprise that we’re revealing to you this morning. Radja Nainggolan makes his return to the Belgian professional world and joins Lokeren-Temse, candidate for descent to the Challenger Pro League.
A remarkable transfer, but for the former Red Devil, the important thing was above all to play football again, preferably close to home. He himself gave some explanations during a press conference organized for the occasion.
“My body was telling me that I shouldn’t stop yet,” writes The Latest News. “I’m happy to get back on the pitch. I spent five months training individually. Playing with friends, a bit of futsal, padel, personal training…,”
-Radja Nainggolan wanted to rediscover the pleasure of the game
“I received a few offers from abroad – Turkey, Iraq, etc. – but I started a new life here in Belgium. With a new girlfriend too. I didn’t want to leave Antwerp,” he said. he added.
Maybe he could have won more at another club, but… “Money is not the most important thing for me. I do it for the game. I won well in Italy. I want show here in Lokeren that I am still capable of doing it.”
He also took part in his first training session with his new club on Wednesday. “I didn’t encounter any difficulties in training today. Neither technically nor physically. I’m used to playing at the highest level, but I prefer to look ahead rather than behind. It’s time to leave, but it’s not my time yet, I want to bring something into the locker room.”
