It’s no secret: Nikola Jokic is having an XXL season worthy of the MVP that he is. If we feel like we’re seeing the best version of the Joker, the Serbian also feels the same way.
In the Nuggets’ demonstration against the 76ers (144-109), Nikola Jokic did not need to push his immense talent to slam a new triple-double with 27 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in just 30 minutes.
To illustrate the level of domination of the Joker currently, here is a stat: in his last four matches, it only took the Serb three quarters each time to score a triple double.
If Shai Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t exist, Nikola Jokic would be the clear favorite for the MVP award because he is having what can be considered his best career season. The pivot is averaging 30 points (career record), 13 rebounds and 9.9 assists (also career record).
After the big victory against Philadelphia, the Joker spoke about his feelings about this XXL season:
“I feel like I’m playing the best basketball of my life. As a team, we’re starting to find our rhythm. Usually against teams that are missing players, we often have problems, but today we managed and I think it’s a first step towards becoming serious.” –Nikola Jokic

-The Serb is not wrong. In the wake of his extraordinary season, the Nuggets are finding their cruising speed. Denver remains on 11 wins in 15 games and sits comfortably in the top 4 in the West.
Cruising speed for the Nuggets at the moment, 11 victories in the last 15 games with a Top 5 attack and defense in the NBA.
Top 1 in shooting success, Top 3 in three points, you catch the right opponents at the right time but you win convincingly.
Must…

If Nikola Jokic continues to pile up big performances like tonight’s, he could well get his fourth MVP title under Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s nose.
