If LeBron James has managed to stay at a very high level for more than two decades, it is not without reason. Former NBA player, Chandler Parsons shared some anecdotes about the Lakers superstar during an interview with the First Team.

We remind you that he just celebrated his 40th birthday just a few weeks ago. And yet, LeBron James is still crazy statistically with almost 24 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists on average. All while being very clean in attack since the King has more than 50% shooting success, including no less than 40% behind the arc.

The Lakers may remain a little average despite this (22-18, 6th in the West), it is proof that the four-time NBA champion is not like the others. He continues to miss very few matches (3 so far this year) and above all, despite the years that pass, the man remains very strong physically. Enough to allow him to reach the extremely rare level of 22 seasons spent in the big league.

Chandler Parsons speechless at LeBron’s longevity

At the same time, it is this unfailing longevity that continues to turn heads as far as he is concerned. LeBron James doesn’t just wake up and go straight to 30-10-7, there’s a whole process behind that. He’s the first to arrive at the gym on the evening of a match. For a match at 7:30 p.m., LeBron is already there at 1:30 p.m. He’s there before the rookies, he’s there before the players who have a ten-day contract, and that’s how you have a long career, that’s how you stay healthy.

He spends millions of dollars on his body, his health… This is a great quality that I respect enormously because as I said, I had a lot of problems with my knee, I had surgery. I’m 36 years old and I still train, but now I’m in pain sitting like this! I don’t know how they do it, it’s crazy.

As a reminder, Parsons only played nine years at the professional level but rubbed shoulders with monsters of longevity such as Dirk Nowitzki and Vince Carter, who respectively spent 21 and 22 seasons on the court. But none of them was still as strong as LeBron when he retired… This shows the feat of the latter, when he could set a new record with a 23rd campaign in 2025-26.

LeBron James is now in his forties, but he continues to be as disciplined as ever before every game. This is an attitude that commands respect, especially for Chandler Parsons who had the chance to face him a few times in the NBA.
