David Beckham, Diane von Fürstenberg and Riken Yamamoto honored at the Crystal Awards

On Monday evening, the WEF presented its Crystal Awards, recognizing efforts to improve the world.

David Beckham49, is distinguished for his humanitarian work and his commitment to children. Over the past 20 years, he has made numerous trips to regions in crisis, which has shown him the importance of listening to children and fighting for their future, he declared during the presentation of the prices in Davos. The Forum also recalled its commitment against malaria. As a founding member of a charity, David Beckham led the award-winning “Malaria must die” campaign in 2018. This reached a billion people.

Diane von FurstenbergBelgian-American fashion designer, is awarded for her commitment to women’s rights. As the creator of the cult wrap dress, she has always stood for women’s independence and strength and is a leading voice in the equality movement. Her work outside of the fashion world has also been praised. By awarding the DVF Awards each year, it has encouraged women who are committed to helping others, underlines the WEF.

Riken YamamotoJapanese architect, receives the award for his work in sustainability and his philosophy. This approach has a significant impact on improving lives and preserving the environment, according to the WEF. Riken Yamamoto, 79, has already been honored in 2024 with the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize. He is particularly known in Switzerland for the construction of “The Circle” at Zurich airport, a unique urban planning concept. His works can be found particularly in China, Korea and Japan.
