Death toll rises: 66 dead in hotel fire in Turkish ski resort

Sixty-six people were killed in a hotel fire that occurred in the middle of the night on Tuesday in a ski resort in central Turkey, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced. Fifty-one people were also injured.

“The death toll in the hotel fire has risen to sixty-six. 51 people were injured, including one seriously,” said the minister who visited the site, confirming that the fire “was extinguished”.
