The Spaniard achieved a great performance because the American remained on eleven victories… Then, Aryna Sabalenka assured despite a first set lost and a break behind in the final round against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (6-2, 2-6, 6-3). She will play a third consecutive semi-final in Melbourne and will aim for a 20th success in a row in the Australian Major.

Badosa offers Gauff and a first half in Grand Slam
Coco Gauff was one of the big favorites… However, this Tuesday, the American fell on a bone, Paula Badosa. Seriously, the Spaniard showed that she was returning to the top by winning 7-5, 6-4. She took advantage of the six double faults and especially 41 unforced errors of a Gauff unregulated and much less inspired than in previous rounds. Thanks to this feat, Badosa will play his very first Grand Slam semi-final at the age of 27. A logical reward for the partner of Stefanos Tsitsipasfree from her back injuries for several months and brilliant on the court. Note that she also won her first Top 10 Grand Slam. This Australian Open whatever happens, is a turning point for Badosa.
A moment of slack… then Sabalenka reappeared
AlthoughAnastasia Pavlyuchenkova or seeded number 27, the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka once again seemed untouchable. This was the case, but not without difficulty. After winning at the US Open, Sabalenka is determined to win the Australian Open for the third time in a row, and the Russian was unable to stand in her way. After a quick first set from the world No. 1 (6-2), Pavlyuchenkova released his shots, dominated the exchange, and took the serve five times Sabalenka consecutively (!). Broken in the last set, the invincible Aryna became Aryna again, with powerful and precise shots (6-2, 2-6, 6-3). She therefore joins her friend Badosa in the last square.
