Laure Manaudou’s father returns to the stolen photos scandal: “The people were no longer there”

In the columns of “Parisien”, on January 19, Jean-Luc Manaudou, the father of Laure Manaudou, spoke about his daughter, whose intimate photos had been revealed without his consent.

This affair caused a lot of noise. In 2007, intimate photographs of swimmer Laure Manaudou were revealed. When she was only 21 years old and at the height of her career, the young woman was the victim of “revenge porn” from her ex-partner. On December 10, 2024, she returned to this painful experience, in the ELLE podcast “Les Vagues”. “It’s as if I had been raped, I was not asked for my consent. And I have to cope because there are still people in front of me,” she declared.

Although she did not experience her adolescence alongside her parents, the swimmer, who lived with her coach, was able to count on their support during this event. His father, Jean-Luc Manaudou spoke in the columns of “Parisien”, this Sunday, January 19. “When there were the photos, the people were no longer there and we were left,” he says. And added: “She came back because there was not much else available to her and the pillar was family. Maybe eighteen years later it feels different, but that’s how it felt. And if something serious should happen one day, an illness… Well, yes, parents are there for life! »
