the essential
The ex-wife of Michel Fourniret confessed to investigators to having participated in the kidnapping and murder of Lydie Logé in 1993 in Orne. This will soon be taken to the department to try to find the remains of the young woman.

We had to wait more than thirty years before the truth came out: Michel Fourniret’s partial confessions in 2019 – before his death in 2021 – did not shed any light on the affair of the disappearance of Lydie Logé . This young mother, aged 29 at the time of the events, was indeed kidnapped and killed by Michel Fourniret in 1993. During recent interrogations, Monique Olivier – the ex-wife of the serial killer – clearly indicated that she had been involved in the kidnapping and murder of Lydie Logé, not far from Alençon (Orne), explain our colleagues from RTL.

It was last May that Monique Olivier confessed. She explained that the victim had just done some Christmas shopping when she was kidnapped. The mother had left her 7-year-old child at home, with his father. When she had just parked in front of her home, in the town of Saint-Christophe le-Jajolet, “the Ogre of the Ardennes” and his ex-partner took action.

“She witnessed my incapacity”

Before judge Sabine Khéris, Monique Olivier claimed to have witnessed Michel Fourniret’s attempted rape of his victim. A failure, the serial killer having had difficulty having an erection: “She witnessed my incapacity”, explained the latter to investigators in 2019. Under the eyes of the one who shared his life, Michel Fourniret would finally have killed Lydie Logé by strangling her. In recent months, Monique Olivier admitted to having participated in the murder and the concealment of the young woman’s corpse. Until now, she denied any complicity in this affair.
