CH had to win last night’s match and can say mission accomplished.
Fans had to follow the other two games on the bill, while two direct opponents of the team were in action: the Senators and the Wings.
One won and the other lost:
1. The Senators do not help the CH
In the afternoon, the Senators visited the Devils and thanks to a 2-1 victory, Ottawa begins the day first among the drafted teams in the Eastern Association.
The Sens have 52 points, two points more than the Habs and one more than the Jackets.
Here is a summary of the meeting.
The winning goal was scored by Artem Zub.
And the visitors’ other goal was scored by Zack Ostapchuk.
It was his first goal in the NHL.
And for a rare time, Brady Tkachuk made headlines for the right reasons.
He was very honest with the official and that saved the Devils from being shorthanded.
2. The Wings lost
-In the other game presented, the Red Wings visited the Dallas Stars and for a second consecutive night, Detroit lost.
The Wings are moving away from the mix… The victory of the Sens and CH is hurting them.
Detroit hasn’t won at Texas since 2017.
The Stars’ 4-1 victory was the 12th in a row at home against the Red wings.
In the victory, Quebecer Mavrik Bourque scored his team’s third goal.
Wyatt Johnston scored this superb goal to seal the outcome of the match.
Detroit is five points from the playoffs and is currently languishing at the bottom of the East (13th place).
A weekend to forget for Todd McLellan’s troupe.
Prolongation
– It’s not just Montreal that’s on fire.
– A first goal for Matej Blumel.
– Two CH players among the best scorers from the day before.
– A little more than half of the clubs in action this evening.
