We take stock of the BLAST Bounty qualifications, with exceptional posters throughout last week.
From the first round of the competition, we were treated to very tough duels between some of the best teams on the planet. The French from 3DMAX for example, were no match for the new HEROIC roster (14-16, 13-10, 7-13). FaZe Clan for its part had to fight to get rid of M80 (13-9, 7-13, 13-9), just like G2 Esports, who eliminated the Ukrainians from B8 in three sets (13-16, 13- 6, 13-11). Less suspense on the other hand for Vitality, solid against Metizport (13-11, 13-9), or again Na’Vi, who did not do any favors to the Brazilians of Imperial Fe (13-7, 13-8) .
Donk alone in his world
The biggest surprise of this first round was ultimately the early elimination of MOUZ, trapped by the Russians from the BetBoom Team (19-17, 7-13, 11-13). Other victors, those of Team Spirit who are riding on their prestigious victory at the end of last year at the Shanghai Major. Carried by its little prodigy Donk (36-25, 1.60 rating), Spirit completely outclassed Fnatic (13-10, 13-4). This weekend the best player on the planet did even better: 44-16 and 2.30 rating in the series against FlyQuest (13-3, 13-1)! Enough to qualify without trembling for the first LAN of the season, scheduled for January 23 to 26 in Copenhagen (Denmark).
Vitality also there
As for the other favorites, Vitality and Na’Vi also showed their muscles, respectively against Virtus.pro (13-11, 13-6) and Astralis (13-11, 13-6). In great form, the Frenchman ZywOo (45-23, 1.63 rating) was one of the great architects of the success of the Abeilles.
G2 Esports, HEROIC and the BetBoom Team are also qualified, unlike FaZe Clan… trapped in the second round by the Brazilian team paiN Gaming (10-13, 11-13). End of course also for NiKo and his new teammates from Team Falcons, beaten in overtime by the Turks of Eternal Fire (6-13, 17-19).
