It was she who allowed investigators to know part of the truth about the disappearance of little Emile. Eight months after his disappearance from Haut-Vernet (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), in March 2024, a resident found the skull of the two and a half year old boy who everyone hoped was still alive as well as clothes and teeth . She confided in Provence while the child’s funeral will take place on February 8.
“It fell on me”
“It’s an experience that I had. Anyway, I don’t believe in chance. The Creator wanted it that way. Someone was needed who could serve as an instrument. It fell on me,” confided the sixty-year-old. This resident of the hamlet was walking on a small path, about 1.7 km from the hamlet, when she made this discovery. The skull was “right in the middle of the path”. She slipped it into a bag and notified the police.
“So in some way, I’ll obviously be linked to this little one for the rest of my life. He is part of my life,” continued the very religious woman. Although marked by this discovery, she says she manages not to think about it every day. “Otherwise we won’t move forward. Life must go on too. »
“I would have a thought for the little one”
On February 8, a religious ceremony will be held in the Sainte-Marie-Madeleine basilica in Saint-Maximin (Var). Then, burial is planned in the Haut-Vernet cemetery. “Every time I go hiking near Haut-Vernet, towards Parc Demontzey or around and I pass in front of the cemetery, I will turn my head and think of the little one. »
-On Emilie’s bones and clothes, two unknown human DNA traces were discovered. They belong neither to the little boy nor to his family. All avenues are still being explored by investigators: from accident to intentional homicide.
