Saudi Arabia makes an important decision

The important announcement from the Consul General of Saudi Arabia in Geneva! An important measure has been taken regarding travelers wishing to perform the rites of Umrah or visit the mosque of the Prophet (PBUH). They will now have to be vaccinated against meningitis.

“Vaccination against meningococcal meningitis (tetravalent ACYW135) is mandatory. This measure applies to all individuals aged 1 and over. The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before departure and remains valid for 3 to 5 years depending on the type used. This obligation comes into force from February 1, 2025, in accordance with Saudi guidelines to protect public health during religious gatherings,” reads the note operated by Senego.

The authorities therefore ask pilgrims to respect the recommendations and health requirements updated for the year 2025 (1446H).
