The final stretch! Last week, Marine and Charles competed to win first place in the “Star Academy” final. After a memorable trio with Sting on “Message in a Bottle” and a duet with Santa, each delivered a memorable solo performance: Charles shook things up with “SOS d’un terrestrial en distress”, this Balavoine classic revisited by Grégory Lemarchal in 2004, while Marine impressed with Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On”. Heading to the final
The evening started in style with the arrival of Zaz, who shared the stage with Franck on “Si” then with Ebony on “Éblouie par la nuit”. The two academicians then took turns sharing the stage with Marine, an opportunity for the audience to project themselves and imagine what the grand finale could look like. Dazzling performances followed: Ebony brought back Charles, eliminated last week against Marine, for a duet. The young woman also sang with Youssou N’dour, before delivering a stunning cover of a song from Camille Lellouche. For his part, Franck was joined on stage by Marc Lavoine. He also shone solo by covering an emblematic title by Charles Aznavour.
The last two finalists of the season had the opportunity to sing and dance together, notably on “Unholy”, the electric title by Sam Smith and Kim Petras, to the great pleasure of the teachers and the public. They also competed on “Rolling in the deep” by the British Adèle then on “Parce que c’est toi” by Axelle Red. The opportunity for them to confront each other one last time before the verdict.
