Wolfsburg. The bottom of the Bundesliga Oberliga presents its second new recruit. The days to come look interesting and intense.

It became clear from the start that changes were underway at Lupo Martini Wolfsburg this winter, beyond just the managerial situation. The club announced Ludger Tusch as their new manager, along with goalkeeper Flynn Schönmottel as their first new arrival. Now, the Kreuzheiders have secured the services of another player.

Christopher Alberts, who honed his skills in the youth systems of Eintracht Braunschweig and Werder Bremen, is now part of the Kreuzheiders squad. “He was supposed to play for Werder’s U23 team, but he decided to come back home,” Tusch said. The 19-year-old left back played in the Landesliga for BSC Acosta in the first half of the season. Tusch stressed that the left back position was an important issue for the team, saying: “It was a big gap, and we have now filled it.”

The 57-year-old boss described Alberts as a “well-trained, tactically and technically competent” new addition who will undoubtedly give the team a boost. It is very likely that this second signing will not be the last, with Tusch revealing that “a decision regarding further signings will be made on Monday or Tuesday.”
