Cesc Fàbregas: “Nothing binds Ansu”

The manager of Italian club Como has denied any connection with Ansu Fati over a potential transfer, saying: “It’s not true.”

As Ansu Fati’s future at Barcelona becomes increasingly uncertain following his exclusion from the squad for the upcoming game against Getafe, it appears his options are limited. After discussions between Fati and German coach Hansi Flick, the latter’s intentions are clear, leaving the young La Masia graduate with little choice other than to look for a way out.

Como, currently involved in Serie A and managed by former FC Barcelona superstar Cesc Fàbregas, has been mentioned as a potential destination for Fati. The club has previously attempted to attract players associated with Barcelona, including signing former captain Sergi Roberto.

However, Fàbregas firmly dismissed any speculation regarding a transfer for Fati, saying: “The links (between Como and Ansu) are not true. There is nothing at all,” seeking to put an end to the matter.

Late Nunez drama secures crucial victory for Liverpool in title race

As part of this winter transfer window, Como have already strengthened their squad by signing Assane Diao, having paid 11.5 million euros to Real Betis for 80% of his rights. Diao, who primarily plays as a right winger but can also play on the left flank or as a central striker (like Fati), immediately caused a sensation by scoring a goal in Como’s recent 1-2 defeat against Milan.

Fàbregas also addressed the situation of England midfielder Dele Alli, who is training with the team while awaiting a decision regarding his future. “He is still with us; we are here to help him, and we will see what happens,” explained the Catalan coach, emphasizing the aim of reviving the former Tottenham star’s career.

While Fàbregas appears to have closed the door on a possible move for Ansu Fati, the Spanish player has other options to find a new club and secure playing time which seems unlikely under Hansi Flick at Barcelona, unless he there is an unforeseen turn of events. LaLiga clubs like Real Betis and Sevilla, as well as Premier League teams such as Tottenham and West Ham, are said to be interested in the Guinea-Bissau striker.
