Spain: one dead in a building affected by Valencia floods

A person died this Saturday in the collapse of a staircase in a building weakened by flooding in the Valencia region, Spain, from October 2024. Another person was injured while cleaning the parking lot of this building, affected by the floods.
One person died on Saturday and another injured in the collapse of a staircase in a building weakened by the tragic floods of October in the Valencia region (eastern Spain), emergency services said .

“One person died and another injured (…) in the collapse of a staircase in a parking lot” of a building in the town of Benetússer, rescuers wrote on the social network X.

Emergency services did not give further details but according to local media, the two victims were cleaning the parking lot of this building, affected by the floods of October 29.

These tragic floods left 232 dead, almost all of them in the Valencia region.
Work to clean up the consequences of these floods, particularly in many building car parks, continues in the most affected localities such as Benetússer.
