-A less spectacular fight
Observers consider it the best fight today. Islam Makhachev was scheduled to face Armenian Arman Tsarukyan in the octagon to defend his lightweight title, early Sunday morning.
Makhachev had fourteen victories in a row, with successes against Oliveira, Volkanowski and Dustin Poirier. Formidable on the ground, he has an increasingly dangerous strike. But he won’t be able to fight after being injured shortly before the fight.
Facing him, Tsarukyan hoped to create one of the biggest surprises in UFC history. The Armenian has just won four victories, the last of which was against Charles Oliveira last April.
Last minute change
After injuring his back, Islam Makhachev (26-1) will not be able to fight his fight against Arman Tsarukyan (22-3). The latter will be opposed to Renato Moicano (20-5-1).
