The agency issues warnings when cold weather poses a health hazard. She recommends that people who need to go outside “watch for the appearance of symptoms associated with the cold: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and change in color of the fingers and toes.”
Furthermore, many regions of Quebec could be affected overnight from Sunday to Monday by a snowstorm which could leave 10 to 20 centimeters of snow in its wake. In certain areas, precipitation will be accompanied by strong winds which can cause heavy blowing snow.
The main regions affected will be Estrie, Chaudière-Appalaches, Gaspésie and Côte-Nord.
