Instagram is putting an end to the square format of content displayed in the profile grid and opting for rectangles more in line with modern uses depending on the platform.
This is an almost historic change for Instagram. From now on, when you go to someone’s profile, you might notice a difference. The grid displays content in rectangles (in the vertical direction) and no longer in squares.

The square format was however one of the application’s trademarks. Instagram boss Adam Mosseri is well aware of this. However, he claims an inevitable choice in the face of changing uses.
