The beautiful story continues for Gaël Monfils (ATP 41). The 38-year-old Frenchman took the measure of Taylor Fritz (4) in the third round of the Australian Open, signing his first Grand Slam victory against a member of the top-5 since 2008.
Having become the oldest tournament winner on the main circuit since 1977 in early January in Auckland, the 38-year-old Parisian won the match 3-6 7-5 7-6 (7/1) 6-4 and will face Lorenzo Musetti ( 15) or Ben Shelton (20) in the round of 16.
