Dallas Stars goalie Jake Oettinger was particularly impressed by the Montreal Canadiens’ performance during the two clashes between the two teams in recent days.
Out of a possible four points, the Habs managed to extract three from the Stars. The two matches were very close and Oettinger, who has no reason to be ashamed of his performances during these matches, visibly has more respect than before for the Montreal team.

“It’s crazy how much better they are than last year,” said the American goalkeeper Thursday evening following the Habs’ 3-1 victory.
-“They are so dangerous,” he added. Their power play is very good, their top six is very talented. If you give them a little space, they charge you for it.”
Oettinger gave up twice on 23 shots Thursday night. It took a deflected shot by Alex Newhook, midway through the third, to give the Habs the lead before Joel Armia completed the score in an empty net.
“It looked pretty high in the air to me, but they got all the angles, so I’m sure it was legal,” Oettinger said of Newhook’s deflection move.
