6-month suspension for treatment of Marta Cox from Grosse

The president of the Panamanian Football Federation (FPF), Manuel Arias, has been suspended for six months by the FIFA Ethics Committee for using inappropriate language against Panamanian national team player Marta Cox.

Arias said in his remarks that Marta Cox was “out of shape, fat and couldn’t move on the court; this is reality,” referring to his performance at the Gold Cup W.

The suspension will last until July 14, 2025, during which time he will not be allowed to participate in activities related to federal football. During Arias’ absence, First Vice President Fernando Arce will take over.
