DALLAS – The Canadiens added two more points to their record with a 3-1 win over the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center on Thursday.
Alex Newhook deflected a Lane Hutson wrist shot past goalie Jake Oettinger with 10:45 left in regulation; In the end it was the winning goal. By being credited with an assist on the sequence, Hutson extended his streak of games with at least one point to six.
Juraj Slafkovsky and Joel Armia, who scored the 100th of his career on Thursday, also found the back of the net for the visitors.
According to the NHL Public Relations Department, Jakub Dobes is the only goaltender other than Charlie Lindgren in league history to win in his first four starts, all of which came on the road. Dobes made 32 saves against the Stars on Thursday.
Montreal, which has an 11-2-1 record in its most recent 14 outings, will play six of its next seven duels at the Bell Centre.
