8 Charity Events You Can Attend to Support Those Affected by the Wildfires

Los Angeles came together in remarkable ways during the fires, showing strength and solidarity through volunteering and donations. Today, artists, businesses and performance venues across the city are mobilizing to organize charitable events aimed at directly supporting people in need. From concerts to classes to live performances, there are many ways to give back while having fun. Check out our list of events below and join the effort to make a difference.

FireAida benefit concert held at the Intuit Dome and Kia Forum on January 30, will bring together some of the biggest names in to support communities devastated by the wildfires that have ravaged Southern California. Proceeds will support reconstruction efforts and fund initiatives aimed at preventing future disasters, making this evening of music and unity an important step towards reconstruction. 2. DtMF listening evening for the benefit of fundraising

Join We follow Aquí et High Tide for an evening of support for first responders and families affected by the SoCal wildfires. Deposit your donations in kind while listening to Bad Bunny’s latest album and savoring chef Vic Ramos’ pastelitos, available from 5:30 p.m. (buy them before they run out!). All contributions will be used to support emergency relief efforts, helping families in Newhall, Sylmar, Altadena, Pasadena and the Valley.

3. Clay workshop

Junior High LA et Tats N Babes are teaming up for a special event on Sunday, January 19, from 1-8 p.m., at Junior High LA to raise money for victims of the Los Angeles wildfires. The event will include local vendors, tattoo artists and a variety of creative activities, with proceeds going to fire relief efforts. One of the highlights of the event is a mini clay photo holder painting workshop, during which participants can paint and take home a clay piece for $10 (materials included). All proceeds from the workshop will be donated to fire victims.

4. We Love LA: Charity Comedy Show

Comedians Gary Branum, Babs Gray and Jenny Yang will perform at the Lyric Hyperion on Friday, January 17, as part of the show charity comedy “We Love LA”. All ticket sales will support the GoFundMe fund to help fire victims Forest Fund, which awards grants to individuals and non-profit organizations recognized for their contribution to reconstruction efforts. 5. First Responder Cruise-In au Petersen Automotive Museum

On Sunday January 26, the Petersen Automotive Museum will organize a First Responder Cruise-In de 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. This event welcomes all vehicles, whether it’s a classic car, a modern marvel or everything in between. This is more than just a car meet; it’s an opportunity to come together for an important cause.

What to expect?

  • Free coffee and bagels: Enjoy breakfast while meeting other car enthusiasts.
  • Other ways to give:
    • The American Red Cross will be on hand for blood donations.
    • Love You So Studios will collect donations of new, sealed items.

6. Listen to Music Outside in the Daylight Under a Tree

Local label Leaving Records presents Listen to Music Outside in the Daylight Under a Tree, a unique outdoor music series. The next event on February 8 will feature performances from Carlos Niño, Julia Holter, Nite Jewel, Maral, and more. From noon to sunset, enjoy live music at the Montecillo from Leo Politi Park to Elysian Park.

7. Grand Reopening of Smorgasburg

The grand reopening of Smorgasburg returns to ROW DTLA on Sunday January 19with more than a dozen new sellers added to the list of exhibitors. This year, the opening event is about more than food and shopping – it’s about community and incorporating a wildfire relief effort. All profits from the bar will be donated to World Central Kitchen and the American Red Cross of Los Angeles. Customers can also contribute directly to sellers who lost their homes and support the aid fund for disaster restaurants. Celebrate tradition while making a difference during the establishment’s annual reopening.

8. Boombox, Libre et Utopia

On Sunday January 19, local promotion teams Boombox, Libre et Utopia team up to organize a special event at Shortstopfor the benefit of John Muir High School fire relief fund. This fund was created to help students who lost their homes in the Eaton Fire. Donations of $5 to $10 are suggested, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. All proceeds from the event, including bar sales, will go directly to the relief fund.
