Jealous of Messi, Neymar Jr demands a…

After Inter Miami, another big MLS club entered the dance for Neymar Jr, but the latter set a condition regarding Messi.

Brazilian striker Neymar Jr arouses the desire of Chicago Fire and the player’s father is reportedly demanding a salary higher than that of Messi. According to information from the newspaper L’Équipe, a meeting between Neymar’s father and agent accompanied by his advisor Pini Zahavi and the leaders of the Chicago Fire club recently took place.

The player’s father then demanded an astronomical salary for his 32-year-old son. This request could cool the ardor of the leaders of the club in the city of Chicago.

Neymar left Saint-Germain for Saudi Arabia in August 2023 for a tidy sum of 90 million euros. And after a season and a half, the Brazilian has only played 4 matches and scored just one goal.

The former Barça player suffered several injuries which kept him away from the pitch. It was therefore a fiasco which cost the Saudi club Al-Hilal dearly since the club had to pay more than 100 million euros to the player in 2024.

Neymar Jr will also receive another 70 million euros according to his contract in Saudi Arabia. Al-Hilal therefore decided to get rid of the latter while refusing to activate the option year included in his contract.

Neymar courted by King Messi’s MLS

Despite his disappointments in the Saudi Pro League, Neymar Jr still has a high rating on the Major League side. Inter Miami is keen to reform the famous MSN which had marched across Europe under the colors of Barça.

In addition, Luis Suarez left the door open for his former teammate and Lionel Messi would certainly be delighted to find his companion from Barça and PSG.

However, the Florida club can no longer enlist a player of Neymar’s standing given his salary and the many stars the club has.

Note that alongside Messi and Luis Suarez, Inter Miami also has Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba in its stable.
