Former footballer and 1994 World Champion Romario shared a strong opinion on the current state of the Brazilian national team and its chances in the 2026 World Cup during an interview with CharlaPodcast. Despite being the most successful team in the history of the World Cup, with five titles (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002), the Seleção is going through a difficult period in the South American qualifications, currently occupying fifth place after 12 matches.

“We are not at the level that Brazil deserves,” expressed Romario, concerned about the team led by Dorival Júnior, adding: “Unfortunately, we do not have a team of the level that Brazil deserves. Win the next Cup of the World will be difficult for us. A lot of things have to change.” He also lamented the absence of some players who could have contributed to the team.

-According to him, the only winning card is the optimal return of Neymar, who is currently in training after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury in one of his knees while he was with Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia. “Brazil needs players who come in, wear the shirt and solve problems.
