“It is with great regret that we, his family, announce the death of the man and the artist, David Lynch,” notes the press release.

David Lynch has directed ten feature films, the first, “Eraserhead” in 1977. His last film, “Inland Empire”, dates from 2006. He is also the author of the legendary series “Twin Peaks” in the early 1990s.

His style has earned his work the adjective “Lynchian”. A universe that we find from his first feature, “Eraserhead”, in 1977. He returned to a more realistic style in 1980 for “Elephant Man” before tackling the adaptation of “Dune”, which was released in 1984. “Blue Velvet”, in 1986, is one of the films best summarizing the universe of David Lynch, who won the Palme d’Or at in 1990 with “Sailor and Lula”. The film “Twin Peaks: Fire Walks with Me”, inspired by the series, hit the screens in 1992. Five years later, Lynch directed “Lost Highway”, and surprised everyone in 1999 with “A True Story”. Lynch returned in 2001 with the spellbinding “Mulholland Drive” and directed his last film in 2006, “Inland Empire.”
