David Lynch, director of ‘Mulholland Drive’ and ‘Elephant Man,’ dies at age 78

American filmmaker and musician David Lynch, director of Mulholland Drive, Elephant Man, Blue Velvet, Sailor et Lula or the series Twin Peaksdied at the age of 78.

“It is with deep regret that we announce the death of the man and artist David Lynch,” announced Thursday, January 16, his family on Facebook. “There is a big hole in the world now that he is no longer with us. But, as he would say, “Keep your eye on the donut and not the hole.” »

David Lynch notably received the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1990 for Sailor et Lulabefore receiving the Directing Prize for Mulholland Driveeleven years later. He won an honorary Golden Lion in Venice for his entire career in 2006 and an honorary Oscar in 2020. He published an album “Cellophane Memories” last year, in duet with Chrysta Bell.
