Whether you’re Team Edward or Team Jacob, there are plenty of Twilight references to enjoy in LEGO Ideas 21354 Twilight: House of Cullen.

While 21354 Twilight: The Cullen House is based on a real, architecturally impressive building, most people who watch it will be instantly transported to Forks, Washington – perhaps for the first time since they were teenagers. The Twilight franchise was born when fantasy novels and films were at the height of romance, centering on a teenage girl who ends up falling in love with one or sometimes two mythical creatures, often trapped in the body of a teenager.

In Edward Cullen’s case, he has been 17 for some time, hiding the dark secret that he and his adopted family are all vampires. Their house, with its open structure and glass windows, is the only place they can be themselves and so it’s where much of the action takes place.

Your LEGO Group has adapted this location for its latest LEGO Ideas set, originally created by Nick Micheels and launched on February 1. As with all LEGO Ideas sets, there are references to the fan designer, with Nick’s birthday on the truck’s license plate and a tribute to his hometown of Sacramento in the landscape wall decor sticker on the ground -ground.

However, if you’re wondering how much Twilight history is packed into the build, we’ve broken down everything we’ve spotted so far.

9 – “Clair de Lune is awesome”

Depending on how you look at it, Bella and Edward’s relationship over their love of classical music is either the most romantic or the most awkward part of the first Twilight movie. Debussy’s Clair de Lune is almost as old as Edward himself, so it’s perhaps no surprise that he loves music from its original era. LEGO together, Edward’s different records are displayed on a shelf, as well as a Debussy composition pinned to his memo board.

8 – “Bella, we’re making Italian for you”

Bella’s first meeting with the Cullen clan doesn’t go so well, with Rosalie smashing a salad bowl when Bella admits she’s already eaten. This same bowl is included in the kitchen, which functions either as a reference to his explosive temper or when the blonde vampire carves “Fido” out of a bowl to serve food to Jacob in a deleted scene from Breaking Dawn: Part 1 . Take your pick from some of Rosalie’s most chaotic moments.

7 – Bella’s love for her cactus

One of Bella’s first scenes in Twilight shows her dramatically digging a cactus out of the Arizona soil to take with her to Washington, sad to leave the hot, dry climate. A brick-built cactus is included in the set, as well as a scene of Bella bringing the Cullens a cactus as a gift in the two-hour animation based on 21354 Twilight: The Cullen House, available to watch on the LEGO Group’s YouTube channel .

6 – “It’s an American pastime”

The baseball scene is one of the most iconic scenes from the first film. We’re not sure if it’s Alice’s kick, Muse’s epic Supermassive Black Hole soundtrack, or the general mayhem of the Cullens using a thunderstorm to mask the sound of the vampires playing, but it’s a real gem. Although not set in the house itself, references to the family’s love of baseball are woven throughout the house, including Alice’s iconic blue cap.

5 – “We sign up a lot”

The Cullens don’t try to hide their vampire history in their own home, they display their many graduate caps in a frame on the wall, showcasing their immortal lives. Not only does Bella notice them, but her parents also find it strange to see them in later films.

4 – “Hold on tight, spider monkey”

It’s rare to see Edward having fun, but taking Bella on a whirlwind journey through the forest while clinging to her back is a brief moment where Bella and Edward both smile. With the now famous line, “Hold on tight, spider monkey,” he takes her into the trees, a moment you can recreate with a special transparent element that attaches Bella to Edward’s back.

3 – “It’s killer skin, Bella”

Back to Whimsical Edward, you can display him in his best light with a special metallic print on Edward’s alternate face print. Place it on a balcony and watch it sparkle. He is the only vampire to have this imprint, although they all have an alternate face with golden eyes, at least.

2 – Bella’s lullaby time

The shot of Edward playing the piano for Bella comes up again and again in the Twilight series, usually when Bella or Edward is close to death and we need an emotional montage. Having decades to perfect his hobby means that Edward is quite good at composing a lullaby specifically for Bella, which he frequently plays, sings, or hums for her throughout the franchise.

1 – “You named my daughter after the LOCH NESS MONSTER?!” »

Let’s probably save the best for last: you may have noticed that the half-vampire miracle baby that is Renesmee does not appear in the box set. However, there is a tribute to the baby – and his infamous nickname – with a carving of a mountainous lake on the wall. This of course refers to the quote: “You named my daughter after the LOCH NESS MONSTER?!” » Bella throws this at Jacob in Revelation: Part 2, when she realizes he impregnated her infant daughter – but finds his nickname to be the most horrible part of the situation.

To enjoy all these Easter eggs and more, you can pre-order 21354 Twilight: House of Cullen currently for £189.99 in the UK, $219.99 in the US, and €219.99 in Europe before its release on February 1.

I write about all the best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win a little, you lose a little.
