The LHC lost this evening at the BCF Arena against HC Fribourg-Gottéron (4-1). The post-match is presented to you by our main partner, Vaudoise Assurances.
Picked cold and lacking inspiration
The start of the meeting was clearly not good for our Lions. Under pressure from the first engagement, our players were far too passive at the start of the match and were cornered in their zone and suffered the wrath of the residents of the BCF Arena. With a goal conceded in the first seconds, then a second a few minutes later, the LHC had to turn its back so as not to sink before returning to the locker room. The attempts on the cage Berra Challenge were far too rare to worry the Friborg goalkeeper who only had to intervene on four shots on target.
It is in the minutes which follow the resumption of play in the second third that the Lions will show their best face. Remobilized after the coaching staff’s speech, the Vaudois players will regain the momentum that characterized them recently and it is through Fabian Heldner that hope will be reborn in the Lausanne ranks with a precise and powerful shot.
A burst which has the merit of existing, but which will in reality be short-lived. Set up in a false rhythm, the two teams will pass the puck from one zone of the ice to another. In this little game, it is the local players who will take advantage of the situation by maintaining control of the match and realizing their strong moments to quickly take cover on the scoreboard.
Two positive series end tonight
In great form since mid-December, the LHC players had not suffered defeat for 8 matches. A prosperous period which took the Lions to the top of the National League standings. Not everything needs to be called into question following this defeat, far from it, but it is now a fact, the LHC has fallen.
-By losing this evening, the LHC also saw its series of victories against HC Fribourg-Gottéron come to an end after 6 successes in a row. A local domination which has greatly pleased LHC supporters for some time and which will have to start again on February 27 with the reception of the Dragons at the Vaudoise arena.
The evolution of the score
1st Jakob Lilja (Rathgeb) 1-0; 7th Maximilian Streule (Mottet / Nicolet) 2-0; 22nd Fabian Heldner (Kuokkanen / Glauser) 2-1; 32nd Marcus Sörensen (Schmid / Wallmark) 3-1; 55th Yannick Rathgeb (Walser / Mottet) 4-1.
The next Lions meetings
The LHC will hit the road tomorrow to go to the Tissot Arena at HC Bienne before returning to the Vaudoise arena on Saturday January 18 with the reception of HC Ajoie.
