The Hainaut Assize Court handed down the sentence of life imprisonment against Kamel Benale, author of an assassination on February 15, 2022 in Charleroi.
Catarina Dominici (73 years old) was murdered on February 15, 2022, in Charleroi. His body was found in his apartment, which the perpetrator had set on fire.
Between January 18 and February 15, 2022, several sums of money were withdrawn from his bank account, by an application downloaded to the mobile phone of the partner of Kamel Benale, active in drug trafficking in Charleroi.
Today, the attorney general had requested the sentence of life imprisonment, not recognizing any mitigating circumstances in favor of the Algerian, in an illegal situation in Belgium. His lawyers had pleaded some mitigating circumstances. The court and the jurors, assembled as a group, did not accept any of them.
