LA embroidered cap [Los Angeles, ndlr] screwed on the head, Meghan approaches a young girl to comfort her. In her two huge checkered bags hanging from her right shoulder, beauty products, hair care and clothes that she wishes to donate, this January 13, to the “Altadena Teen Girls Fire Recovery” group. This impromptu initiative was launched in the city of Pasadena by 14-year-old Avery Colvert to help teenage girls her age who lost their homes in the recent fires ravaging the Los Angeles area. His wish? Restore a semblance of normality for these displaced or affected young girls. A cause that the Duchess of Sussex has chosen to make her own, reveals the video published by the organization on its Instagram account.
Representing her Archewell foundation, Meghan did not hesitate to go there to present the supplies to the volunteers herself. She even offers them lunch, specifies the magazine People. The mother of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, a native of the City of Angels, wants to speak directly with the families during this brief intervention. She asks about their condition and any damage they may have suffered. “We especially thank the Archewell Foundation for their support,” read the official Altadena Girls press release. “If Harry and Meghan approve, then so do I,” enthuses an Australian ready to make a donation.
A leader of the rescue group confides that “the simple fact of [Meghan] meeting changes life! Having his support is unreal.” If the effects of his appearance are therefore favorable to the initiative, this is not the first time that the daughter-in-law of King Charles III has gone to the field. There are almost one week, she and Prince Harry, wearing masks, came to lend a hand to first aid and comfort the victims gathered at the Pasadena Convention Center as volunteers (almost) incognito.
