A man was taken into custody on Tuesday morning in Toulon. He is suspected of the assassination of Ginette Naime on April 13, 2000 in Ollioules (Var), the Nanterre prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday. This crime has never been solved.
The body of this 46-year-old woman was found by walkers, with stab wounds. They had previously seen an individual who fled “at their sight, while they were on the Gros Cerveau road in Ollioules”, explained the Nanterre prosecutor’s office. These details were provided in a video calling for witnesses, broadcast on the website of the Ministry of the Interior last June.

According to investigators from the Central Office for the Repression of Violence against Persons, the victim went to the municipal social action center of La Seyne-sur-Mer around 2:30 p.m. on the day of the incident. “An employee heard screaming and from his window, he saw a woman in a vehicle, on the front passenger side, knocking on the window, then the car left,” an investigator detailed in the video.
