While the King has only known the basketball courts since he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003, we could very well have seen it in NFLperform as an American football player. This idea crossed his mind in 2011 during the lockout in NBA.

It’s not a secret, LeBron James is a big fan of American football. We see him regularly supporting the Browns de Cleveland or the university team of Ohio State Buckeyes. From being a supporter, the King could have turned into a player. Indeed, podcast guest New Heights with the brothers Jason Kelce et Travis Kelce, LeBron James explained that he had thought about launching into NFL in 2011: « I didn’t know when we were going to close the deal with the owners and restart our league. So I thought about it a bit at the time. I was still quite young. It was the only time I seriously thought about it. I had serious dreams about this all the time. And in my dream the ball is never put in play. It’s me warming up, it’s me going out, doing my layouts and just as the game starts I wake up or something of the kind. It lets me know I’m not supposed to be on the field ».
