It was a somewhat unique experience that took place right in the middle of Grand Central, the busiest station in New York, used by hundreds of thousands of workers every day. On the occasion of the launch this January 17 of season 2 of Severancea little nugget well hidden in the catalog and which deserves to be seen, Apple TV+ has imagined this very meta promo, in perfect harmony with the dystopian tone of the series.
Because, if you don’t know yet Severancecreated by Dan Erickson and produced and directed by Ben Stiller, its characters are employees of a mysterious company called Lumon which, thanks to a revolutionary surgical procedure, allows them to separate their “self” from the work of their “me” from the outside. THE “innies” don’t know anything about what their “outies” and vice versa. It is a kind of alienation and compartmentalization bordering on lobotomy, in the service of big capital.
Apple TV+ therefore imagined this large glass cage, placed in the middle of Grand Central, in which the characters of the series Mark (Adam Scott), Helly (Britt Lower) and Dylan (Zach Cherry) work in tasks without tail nor head.
