Even video games have shed light on this horrific legend, particularly in narrative video games. The Quarry (2022)featuring young adults stuck in a chalet in the forest for one night.

But it’s been a long time since the werewolf took to the big screen. It is now done, with the release in our cinemas of Wolf Manthe new horror production from Blumhouse.

Wolf Man has a little trouble getting his fangs out

Without doubt, Wolf Man is not a bad film. With his staging, Leigh Whannell manages to make us adhere to this funny bestiary which rages in the forests of Oregon.

The biggest risk of this film was the realistic portrayal of a man halfway between human and lycan. A difficult in-between to find, but one that the film manages to highlight throughout the plot.

Christopher Abbott, in a role full of bestialitymanages to capture the very essence of his transformation and delivers a convincing performance that is far from easy to play.

We believe it, we worry about the fate of Ginger and Charlotte, but also that of Blake. Will he undergo his transformation? Will he hunt down his family to meet their need for fresh meat?

More, one of the film’s major weaknesses remains its ability to surprise us. Whether in terms of fear or suspense, the film fails, and that’s a shame for a horror film.

Apart from a few jumpscares seen and re-watched, Wolf Man has a hard time keeping up with us really scaredand we can quite easily guess the turn of events and the major revelations of the film. A little wolf!
