A certain television advertisement from a certain furniture store caused a lot of talk between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
We are of course talking here about the Meubles RD advertisement featuring Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge, where the latter strongly played the self-deprecating card for the needs of the cause, with the banner’s spokesperson, the comedian Jérémy Demay.
The ad caused a bit of controversy (details here) and, in return, amused many as well. Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge warmly thanked the public on social networks for, he said, the “incredible wave of love” received (details here).
Émily Bégin says she is proud of her man. Met at the start of the week at Studio MELS in Saint-Hubert during a press conference for Star Academywhere this year she will be a dance and physical education teacher, the actress, singer and host briefly returned with us to this media reappearance of Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge, nine months after the events which forced the latter to take a little hindsight.
“He continues to make his way. He continues to pay attention to himself. We experience beautiful moments as a family. You will see what happens next…”, Émily Bégin first let it sink in in an interview.
What’s next? Does this mean that a “suite” is already in the works for Guillaume in the artistic world? Asked to complete her remarks, Émily was quick to point out that her lover has no concrete plans on the table for the moment. But…
“I don’t know. For the moment, there is no follow-up. But, knowing Guillaume, he’s not just going to be on his mountain for years!”
“For now, let him enjoy life,” continued Emily. “It hasn’t even been a year since he’s been break…»
The two artists are therefore able to see the bright side of things, now that the dust is slowly settling.
“Guillaume is positive. We’ve been through a lot, but we’re focusing on what we have. We are already very privileged, just to be healthy!”
Émily Bégin says she loved the Meubles RD vignette in which Guillaume starred.
“I thought it was perfect! It was a good move, a good one flash. You can’t get a better ad than that. We just talked about that during the holidays!”
A big sister at the academy!
Émily Bégin, for her part, is ready to go as a particularly busy winter begins for her. To the sports and physical education courses that it will offer to candidates of Star Academy every Monday morning at 10 a.m. (and which will be broadcast in the Tuesday daily on television), and which also involve a presence at the Sunday variety gala, will be added in the spring to the filming of the second season of the series FEMon Unis TV, and we will also see her in Indefensible at the beginning of February.
HAS Star AcademyÉmily plans not only to share her love of movement – and to make her foals move in different styles, including country and line dancing! –, but also to allow her students to benefit from her own experience in the televised competition, she who participated in the very first edition of Star Academy in 2003. She also wants to allow her flock to “get some fresh air”, “give them a break from competition”.
“The human side is one of my strengths. I like talking to people, giving them advice. These are young people who are just starting out, even if some have already had certain experiences like The Voice.»
“HAS Star Academyyou are really in a bubble! Everyone goes through boredom, sadness, anxiety. And there is the stress of learning new material every week, to do galas which are roughly the equivalent of ADISQ galas every Sunday…! For me, it will be important to address this aspect before starting my course on Monday morning, especially after the big evening on Sunday.
Émily also wants to promote team spirit in her group, aware that some academics may be less skilled in dancing.
“I want them to be in good physical and mental shape!” argued the woman who sees herself as a “big sister” to the participants.
The eighth version of Star Academy will take off this Sunday, January 19, at 7 p.m., on TVA. The dailies will be on the air the next day, Monday January 20, at 7:30 p.m.
